With ideas and work featured in publications like Fast Company and Time Magazine, we help business leaders prototype new business opportunities to evaluate product-market-fit.

For ten years, we’ve quietly refined our craft and built a unique offering we know the market needs. Now, we’re ready to share our approach to innovation consulting with the world as we rapidly scale the team.

We’re looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as Director of Growth. In this role, you’ll act as the tip of the spear, helping to share our story with the market. With the full support of the executive team, you’ll lead outreach efforts to prospective customers, and be supported with team members and resources to make it happen.

What you’ll be doing day to day

The mission is clear – we need you to channel passion and energy for Innovation Services into generating awareness and interest in Normative. In this role, you’ll be asked to:

  • Develop pursuit strategies for high-value verticals and organizations
  • Identify, do outreach, and qualify new prospective Normative buyers
  • Maintain relationships with prospective customers
  • Develop vertical and domain-specific campaigns
  • Conduct research to understand potential client and vertical challenges
  • Use emerging growth-engineering methods to generate leads
  • Identify novel approaches to activating the Normative brand in market
  • Work with cross-functional team members to create business proposals
  • Participate and / or lead pipeline strategy and management activities

What we’d love to see

We know people passionate about growth come from a lot of different backgrounds. That’s why, first and foremost, we hire for culture. Passion (ok, obsession) with product-market-fit and evidence-based innovation is the cost of entry. From there, you need to be an amazing storyteller with an uncanny ability to understand a person’s business challenge.

Here’s our unicorn:

  • A Brilliant Storyteller. Someone with the ability to craft a narrative that can capture attention.
  • An Amazing Communicator. Incredible written and verbal communication. If you have a point of view on the Oxford comma, that’s a good start.
  • A History of Pipeline Success. You’ve spent a minimum of 7 years successfully doing business development or sales in a services or startup environment. Bonus points if you’ve been in a consulting firm or user experience design firm.
  • A Smart Strategist. You’ve seen the business world, either through your degree or your work experience. You understand that there’s a problem behind the problem, and you can show that you’re good at finding it.
  • A Quarterback. When we think of a quarterback, we think of someone who takes direction from a coach, assesses what’s in front of them, and helps lead the team to an amazing outcome. We know that some people drawn to this line of work are lone wolves – that’s not really our style. Our team experience is shaped by the quality and design of our programs, so you must play a role shaping our opportunities.
  • An Experimenter. Define a test, generate data, push forward or pivot. We want a team member who practices our approach to evidence-based innovation.
  • A Person with A Head Start. If you’ve got a network of potential innovation contacts who trust you, it’ll help let you refine your approach to our offering.
